Aeronautical Weather Stations

All airports have many weather sensors in all runways, this allow an automate system to receive all data come from the sensors and compile automatically the weather bulletins.
From the amendment 73 of annex 3 ICAO all systems in order to send their bulletin must have:
  • 3 Visibility sensors ( this allow the AWOS to show the prevailing visibility and the minimum visibility ) 
  • 2 Celiometer ( in order to insert automatically the ceiling and the coverage, also if in my opinion the coverage is not true) 
  • 3 Barometer (one for runway in order to send the QFE and one in order to calculate the QNH)
  • 2 Anemometer
  • 2 Thermo-hygrometer
  • 1 Rain gauge 

The Bulletins that can be automatically compiled are:
  • Met Report or Local Report
  • Metar
  • Synop
  • Syrep
  • QNH 
  • Ta




        



In the picture below you can see my idea of weather system. Obviously all devices like pc, tablet and external pc are allowed only for view data and/or bulletin.
